White Desert Photography captured timeless photos of Evan and Rebecca’s intimate Grand Canyon elopement. The couple planned the day so thoroughly that not even 40 mph wind gusts could stop it.
The photos show a perfect day sprinkled with imperfection at Lipan Point for their Grand Canyon elopement. Rebecca wanted photos of a first look with her brother, pictures at the ceremony site with the family, and even some fun and goofy photos with Evan. Overall she got what wanted, and thanks to a great and accepting attitude, a day full of love and laughter.
A Windy Grand Canyon Elopement
No one expected a gust of wind to take Rebecca’s veil for a ride, sending it flying across the canyon.
The bride and groom assumed the veil was lost forever. But lucky for them, a polite stranger found the veil stuck to some plants nearby. Shockingly, he returned the veil to an elated bride and groom 45 minutes later.
This story shows how important it is to plan for weather on your big day. The weather at the Grand Canyon can be sudden and surprising. But it’s these adventurous factors — and the stunning red Supai stone and yellow sandstone plastered into the miles of canyon walls — that make Grand Canyon elopements so special.
A Great Mindset for Eloping in the Grand Canyon
It was so much fun photographing Evan and Rebecca at their Grand Canyon elopement because of their accepting personalities.
The couple went with the flow when the wind came pushing through and things became difficult. As Evan saw his new wife’s hair blowing in the wind, he joined her. He let his hair out of its styled bun and let it fly!
As a result, the photos show the couple’s true selves and true love for each other that will stand the test of time.
Getting to the Canyon
Couples planning ahead for a Grand Canyon elopement, marriage or ceremony should secure a special use permit at the Grand Canyon National Park in order to avoid fines and fees.
The park also has good list of locations in the park that can accommodate your guests.
